Words From Families

“Our mother loved having Casey as her Support companion and enjoyed their outings and their talks at home immensely. When Mum entered aged care last year, she was not settling well, so we once again asked Casey if she could come and spend time with Mum. She agreed to weekly visits, which thrilled Mum. She genuinely looked forward to every Tuesday, when Casey would take Mum for a walks in the wheelchair, read to Mum when her eyesight failed and simply listened to Mum’s stories about her family. When Mum passed away in November, family and close friends were invited to her bedside to say goodbye. Casey was one of those friends there by her side, even in death. Our family cannot speak highly enough of Casey for her care, warmth, compassion, loyalty, reliability and empathy shown to our Mum for over Three years. Whoever is blessed to have Casey to support them in any way – has also found a wonderful friend.”

“Casey – Thank you so very much for sharing our journey with Dad. Thank you for having such a lovely quiet and calm manner, a wealth of knowledge plus your End of Life Doula experience! We still can’t believe how lucky we were to find you! You fitted so perfectly into our “family caring team” – the only time we didn’t worry about Dad was when you were with him. We can’t thank you enough also for the support you provided through your texts, phone calls and meet ups. We only wish you had known the person Dad was, to know that he most certainly would be thanking you for your genuine patience, kindness and understanding, when the going got tough for him. Thank you for your exemplary care!”

When my father passed away unexpectedly, it was an intense time for the family. Casey came into our presence that afternoon driving hours to see us. Although she was not at all a big talker, she very gently guided the family through this difficult time. When the majority of friends/family left the home that night, Casey asked us questions that we really needed someone to ask us. She made the phone calls, organised the paperwork, helped my mother choose the perfect urn and was just there for support for anyone that needed it. Her presence was such a relief for our family during this difficult time.”

Thank you Casey, for the caring and considerate person that you are. The time you have spent with our aging parents over the years in Townsville has given them some wonderful memories and company outside of the family. I knew Mum enjoyed your visits during her final weeks this year and I believe that your gentle End of Life discussions gave her great comfort. These were the conversations that Mum never felt comfortable talking to loved ones about. It means so much to our family that you still spend time with Dad at the nursing home, now that Mum has passed and our family lives all over QLD. It is comforting for us knowing that he has someone who genuinely cares, visiting him regularly. Thank you.”

“We employed Casey to take my Mother shopping and to spend time with her while she was still living at home. Over more than a year of support, Casey became not only a great help, but a true friend to Mum during that time. She also supported me personally in navigating my relationship with my aging mother and in preparing for her transition into a nursing home. Her guidance meant a great deal to our family. Casey is a very kind and positive person, and it was clear she genuinely enjoyed the time she spent with mum.”
